  Location was great but food was very substandard with the cost for inferior meals outragrous. To top it off both myself and my partner had food poisoning with vomiting and diarrhea along with at least three other visitors from a buffet July 31, 2011.

  Inferior meals with the high expense requiring gormet level quality to justify the expense. This was not even remotely achieved,

  Great view of magnificant Emerald Lake. Great fireplace

  Lav facuet loose and drain level did not hold the drain closed. The electrical receptacle in the bathroom was loose and more than a little dangerous. The toliet handle had to be turned just right to the millimeter for the water to quit running. The screen in the exterior balcony door was loose and fell out. The smoke/fire alarm kept going off when the fireplace was burning.

  The entire location is so sheltered that there is no wind at all

  Don't go there expecting a luxury room. Other than a fireplace and a nice balcony, the room is pretty bare bones (nice to get away from the electronics for a few days..)

  The best thing about the Emerald Lake Lodge is its location. It is beautiful and so quiet and relaxing. It is a great place for a get-away!

  A nos of facilities were closed due to a wedding. The gym was disapointing - two running machines only. Leaving the car a km down the road.

  Nice historic main building. Excellent location at the Emerald lake, go there when the ice on the lake is gone. The food is excellent and so is the wine list. Excellent breakfast buffet at a reasonable price. Informal and friendly atmosphere.

  Menu prices, particularly wines were a bit higher than one might expect.

  John was lovely and made us feel right at home, it was quiet and secluded.

  it was lovely and john was a great staff member. But the spa was cold, (not great in winter), my partner's meal had plastic in it, and the waiter did not offer us any thing to make up for it, and one of the towels in our room had very dark brown marks on it.

  Wonderful. Rooms are in chalets (2/4 per chalet). Tranquil, pretty location, friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms, nicely furnished. Nice choice of on-site restaurants. Pricey but you go into the booking knowing that. Great open fire in the room and good view of the lake (not all rooms have this and there may be a premuim to secure a view). No cars, except hotel vehicles, on the site - resident parking 800 m down the road - transport between the two is available 24-hours.

  Knowing we were only there for 2 nights ...
